1. Can I see an example?
: Go to www.pagegangster.com/demo and see examples of how to embed the publications on a website. If you upload your own PDF, you get 7-days free preview of what your publication looks like.
2. I uploaded a PDF, but did not receive a mail.
: Some confirmation mails are caught in spam filters. Please check your spam filter. Heavy traffic can also cause delays, so please allow a few hours’ processing time. If you still haven’t received a file, please contact us on support@pagegangster.com
3. What is the maximum file size?
: There is no maximum file size, but, for your own convenience and upload time, they should be as small as possible. Note however, that the converter downscales or upscales the files to 150 dpi, so we recommend that your pictures are 150 dpi for optimal resolution.
4. How many pages can I upload?
: As many as you want ☺
5. Should all pages be in the same PDF?
: YES! If you upload more than one PDF, they will be treated as separate magazines.
6. How do I prepare my PDF for upload?
: Single pages (not spreads*) in one PDF. Preferably 150 dpi resolution. Make sure all pages are the same size. If not, some pages might turn, due to automatic correction by the player. Click here to see guide
7. What languages is the player in, and what is to come?
: We keep upgrading the player with more languages. Click here to see the list. If you need a language that is not on the list please mail us at support@pagegangster.com
8. Can I hide the “Pagegangster” name in the URL and publication?
: Yes, you can! There are several ways of doing this. Please see our tips & tricks for more info, or see the DEMO page.
9. What is the price for one activation?
: The price for converting and activating one PDF into an online magazine is $199. Remember, it is free to try it. See pricing
10. What if I have many PDFs or back issues?
: If you have back issues or many PDFs (more than 30) please contact us at contact@pagegangster.com for a better solution.
11. Does it cost anything to view the publication?
: No – the only cost is the activation. Once you buy the license, you can show it to 98% of all Internet users, if you can get them to your website ☺
12. My magazine is turning sideways.
: You probably used spreads (2 pages on one page), or maybe your pages are exactly rectangular. Please upload a single paged PDF, or see this FAQ #6
13. I have two pages on each page.
: You have uploaded a PDF containing spreads. Please check that your PDF only has 1 page per page, before you upload.
14. I activated a PDF but did not receive a mail.

15. Can I change the publication after it is activated?
: No, once you activate a PDF, it is static. If you want to publish a new PDF, please upload and activate again.
16. Do you accept other currencies than USD?
: Not at the moment, but we are looking into it.
17. Can I see user statistics?
: Not yet. User behavior is stored in log files, and we are working on an administration module that can provide all user stats.
18. Can I host it on my own server?
: No. ... But yes... The Pagegangster Basic is running on a unique server setup that provides search function, Google search ability, dynamic updates, user stats etc. While everything must run on our server, this fact can be hidden – please see FAQ #8. But we have prereleased a Standalone version. The Standalone can be hosted on your own server, be burned to a dvd, etc. Please contact us at info@pagegangster.com for more info.
19. Can I create hyperlinks in the publication?
: Yes! You can create and edit hyperlinks directly in your converted publication. Use the "Link Editor" featured in "Edit publication" next to the publication thumbs in your account.
Hyperlinks are also adopted from the pdf file, and will work in your online publication. Both internal (between pages in the publication) and external (to other websites) links will be adopted. Click here to see guide.
20. Can I change the background color?
: Not yet, but soon. All users will receive an administration module that gives them the ability to create hyperlinks, customize the player, and use video inside the magazine.

22. Do you still have the old Pro version of Pagegangster?
: No – it’s dead ☺

23. I can't log in to my account
: Make sure you are using the same email you used for upload, and that you are not logged in already.
If you need a new password, please use the "Forgot Your Password" link in the login box at Pagegangster.com
*Spreads: A way of setting up a PDF for printing. If you use spreads you will have 2 pages on each page, so that you can fold the paper into magazine pages after it is printed. Our system will understand these pages as one page. So change your magazine into single pages in the PDF, and our converter will be very happy ☺
Shops
24. Can I charge more than $199?
: Our price is $199 and we would like to keep it that way. We will not sanction against third party resellers that resell our product at a higher cost, but we don’t recommend it. Also, be aware that your customers might find out that we (and others) are selling the product for $199.
25. Can I change the mail that is sent to my customers?
: Yes, you can change the text. You do this from your shop when you upload the PDF manually.
26. Can I create my own site with an online converter?
: Yes, go to your shop and see “tools”. Here you will find all the instructions for creating and embedding your own personal upload module.
27. What does it take to get a shop?
: The shop solution is primarily designed for print shops and publishers. To get a shop you must have a steady flow of PDF files that you can convert into magazines. We want you to build a business and enjoy the ride as a member of The Pagegangster Family!
