NEW FEATURE – Video Editor

September 26, 2011

Happy news to all Pagegangster users. We have just launched a cool new feature making it possible to add videos to your publications.

Our focus has been on making it user friendly enough for everyone to enjoy. Therefore we have developed a Video Editor, a simple interface, where you can manage your videos and just drag and drop them into your publication. It has never been easier to set up the right size and position. Furthermore you can adjust the playback settings or remove the toolbar and background which is really cool if you use alpha transparent videos.

You can either upload your own videos or add YouTube content. We currently support .mp4 and .flv video formats.

You’ll find the Video Editor in the publication settings in your account next to the Link Editor.

Need inspiration? Get a taste of what you can do with the new Video Editor tool. Check out the Video Issue here.

All the best, Johan

Barbara says: Hi! Great feature -- BUT, I still don't understand how to show an example to my client. My client is a township, a chamber of commerce, and they want to see their little promotional videos inside their Angel Fire Visitor Guide documents. I have standalones for 2 or 3 of these Visitor Guides. Is it possible to use one of my EXISTING Standalone documents that I have here, on my hard drive, and use the Video Editor to add a video to the document? How can I access the Video Editor and try that out, if it is possible? This is not clear on the Pagegangster website. In your introduction paragraphs, it says it's "not good enough to show customers just yet," so that's why I'm writing -- how can I show my customer what it will look like? the Video Edition is great, but it is a little bit over the top for this case, and it takes a long time to load. Also I do not want my customer to see you, my source! Is this enough information? Can you help me with this? I only need to know if I am able use my EXISTING Standalone to display one of our little videos inside it, using your Video Editor. THANKS AS ALWAYS!! Barbara

jp says: Hi Anne, Sure no problem. There are several ways to embed your publication. Here's a guide on how to do it: www.pagegangster.com/support/how-to-embed-your-publication/ I think all blog services lets you embed stuff. But I have worked with Wordpress blogs and that I can recommend. All the best, Johan

nicole says: Hello, Love that you are now offering embedded video but it looks like Adobe Flash 11.2 is required to view the video? I see this as a draw back as many older OS can not support it - including my Mac - Leopard 10.5.8. Yes I can upgrade for $30 (which I will do) but potential viewers may not want to bother; resulting in loss of viewership. nicole.

jp says: Hi Nicole, the video editor should run on flash versions newer than 10.0. What version do you have? You can check it here - http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ And what it that isn't working? All of us at the office only use Mac so it should be working :-) All the best, Johan

nicole says: Hello, I was incorrect about Adobe Flash 11.2 being required - video will play with Flash 10.3 which Leopard 10.5.8 can support. The video looks great! Thanks. nicole.
