Driving rain at the start of the day failed to reduce attendance at Derby’s get-together, above, and new retiree Keith Horton,who worked in the office at Sinfin Lane joined in for the first time. He was able to share a typical look back with the pictures, right and below, brought along by Wendy Bowler showing her with colleagues Tom Adamson, Marion Hull and Lorraine Muglesston at her 1988 retirement and an office party in the same year.

Carrow Bowls Cups ‘liberated”
The 25 Eastern Region pensioners attending the summer get-together at the White Horse, Trowse found themselves up for the cups. The boy Frank (of the Rhyming Bank) has contributed several poems to Contact and has now gone into print with a great collection. Pensioner Don Wilson, the former Pharmaceutical Division Immobilon marksman, wrote about his wartime exploits in Contact No.22 (January 2002) and had a poem dedicated to him in the next issue. Now, at 92, the Yorkshire Post has written a threepage article on his experiences in the notorious Stalag Luft III concentration camp and backed it with a video interview.
