ELIHU BURRITT “BURT” HARWOOD (1857-1922) American Harwood House n.d. Pastel on board 1501/1 After studying at the Academie Julian and the Art Students League, Harwood moved to Taos in 1916. In 1923 the artist’s widow Elizabeth established the Harwood Foundation to serve as a cultural center for Taos. Today the Harwood Museum of Art is housed there.
