Barton Direct 2010 A Message from the Town Mayor, Councillor, Mrs Ann Clark Barton Town is expanding year on year, so we welcome the new edition of Barton Direct as a useful contribution to having all the information necessary in today’s fast moving world for all of us. Many Bartonians have lived in the Town and surrounding villages for years and sometimes several generations besides. Others of you may be newcomers or visitors, attracted by the facilities, warmth or, yes, reasonable housing costs. We particularly welcome the significant number of visitors who come to enjoy the history, architecture, sports, wildlife and peaceful country facilities in this unique part of the UK. At Barton Town Council, we do our best to enhance all the town’s experiences, from civic initiatives to community activity and development. Our Christmas Festival and Picnic in the Park are examples of initiatives available for all. So, enjoy our lovely town and its surrounding area – we do.
