Stepping up a gear at Intrinsic Fusion Reactions The past year has seen sustained progress in business growth, further innovation in the use of technology, and development of markets with an ever increasing number of household names in every area. The latest changes have considerably enhanced our company’s reputation and reinforced that commitment to the increased prosperity and success and a bright future for us all at Intrinsic Technology and our customers. The most notable events of the past few months have seen a number of new faces – several in the engine room and key business process teams. The helm too has recently seen a new face in Mike Mason, who is stepping into Allan Gauld’s shoes, as Allan moves up to the new Chief Executive role, as described elsewhere in this issue. The next few years will see some exciting developments, as Intrinsic Technology builds on its well established reputation for excellence in the application of technologies to our customers’ business growth, and as new services and solutions come ‘on stream’. Now is an exciting time to be in the IT industry. We have moved on from the days of separate technology developments for telephony, voice and image, to fully inclusive, service focussed platforms. The business model that Intrinsic has so successfully implemented will enable us to expand our services and solutions much more in the next few years. Access to services from any location or device is definitely the way forward – we already deliver and support communications solutions for fixed and mobile platforms. It is a simple step to expand this to cover a much wider range of access to computing services of all forms. New services are needed as businesses look to reduce operating costs, establish new ways of working and introduce new ways of managing the traditional. The ‘outsourcing’ word has taken on a new meaning – now, not just call centres, but a whole range of computing and communications services are hosted and managed by specialist companies, such as Intrinsic Technology, for their customers. Other UK infrastructure initiatives, such as the Next Generation Networks, and “Next Generation Access” are delivering elements of the enabling infrastructure, as Intrinsic will focus on delivering a wider range of solutions. Traditional data centres are being – indeed have been replaced by hosted solutions, co-hosted solutions, and on demand services using the Internet. Many such services are available to the SME, but this is now expanding rapidly into the commercial enterprise and public sector arenas, where Intrinsic is a leading player. All of these proposals provide Intrinsic with considerable opportunities to up sell to our existing base whilst attracting new customers through our extended range of managed services – our “Fusion” portfolio. Our customers, a bit like ourselves, want access to secure, reliable and available services, as and when they need them, to enable them to concentrate on their core business. previous page next page
