Mediwrap ® WORLD DISTRIBUTOR Indispensable Heat Reflecting Medical blankets, wraps and survival bags plus accident and paramedic support equipment Introduction The Mediwrap® range of blankets, wraps and survival bags with their absorbent inner liners are supplied in compact lightweight packages that are easy to transport and store. The proven heat reflecting technology enshrined in these products help keep hospital patients and accident victims warm whilst providing emergency protection from the elements for athletes and adventurers alike. The range is supplemented with Mediwrap® Soft Extraction All Weather Blankets made from a non-woven material on the outside and the heat reflecting liner on the inside. Mediwrap® is a simple but highly effective insulation system designed to prevent patient heat loss and associated hypothermia. It also provides high moisture and bodily fluid absorption and is barrier to bacteria. Mediwrap® may be used in all anaesthetic and surgical procedures as it is non-conductive and radio-lucent, making it safe for most electro surgical techniques including diathermy, defibrillation and x-ray. ◄ Disposable ambulance and paramedical retrieval packs Each pack includes: An absorbent waterproof bottom sheet that is a total barrier to bacteria. A pillow-case that is made from the same barrier bedding material, which ensures no seepage is transferred to the pillow. A Mediwrap® high protection blanket offering ultra lightweight, complete barrier to bacteria protection and high absorbency of blood and other bodily fluids. A Yellow clinical waste bag is included to allow speedy removal and stowage of used bedding facilitating a much quicker ambulance turn-round and less clean-up time. ◄ Operating Theatre pack Maintaining a patient's temperature whilst they are undergoing surgery is an area of concern for anaesthetists, nurses and ODPs. Hypothermia is said to exist when the core temperature falls below 35°C. (Bernthall, 1999:17). Closs, McDonald and Hawthorn (1986: 739) identify that inadvertent hypothermia may occur through any of the following factors; cold waiting areas; transfer of patients through corridors; patients' bodies being exposed for anaesthetic and surgical procedures, cool theatres, thin drapes, the type of surgery; cool skin preparations, duration of fasting, the administration of cool intravenous fluids. ◄ High protection single use barrier bedding Each Mediwrap® Single Use Barrier Bedding pack is designed for use on stretcher trolleys, emergency wards, field hospitals, first aid rooms and anywhere where clean emergency or barrier bedding is needed. These packs may be used in the sure knowledge that bodily fluids will not seep through to mattresses or pillows. The soft, comfortable air laid tissue is able to absorb in excess of ten times its own weight of fluids whilst leaving the patient in a comfortable environment. The bedding may be used to assist in the transfer of patients and left with the patient if required. The pillowcase, made from the same barrier bedding material as the bottom sheet, ensures no seepage form the patient’s mouth, nose ears or skin will be transferred to the pillow. ◄ Critical care thermal wraps Critiwrap™ and Paediwrap™ offer a complete system for the transportation of the critically ill when used with your choice of support equipment and Critibag™ Fully opens to allow easy access. Allows the attendant to c|gt to the patient very quickly; access to any part of the body can be made through the Critiwrajl™, which is then re-seated. Provides the patient with a secure clean thermally retentive environment, free from contamination and exposure. Used on all critical care transfers and lengthy surgical procedures. Critiwrap™ and Paediwrap™ are used and recommended by consultants and instructors for the Anaesthetic, Trauma and Critical Care (ATACC) and Rescue Trauma and Critical Care (RTACC) courses. ◄ Thermal baby wraps The wrap covers baby's entire body and head is absorbent, waterproof and a total barrier to bacteria. It retains baby's body heat and will not lint or disintegrate, even when wet. It is radiolucent, latex free and non-conductive, safe for diathermy and defibrillation. Mediwrap® Baby is a single use thermal wrap for babies and infants. It is thermally retentive and prevents convective, evaporative, conductive and radiant heat loss. The wrap is highly absorbent and waterproof and is designed to allow speedy and easy access to any part of the baby.
